A Moment of Coolness in the Hot Season Mist Installed in the Plaza in front of the Station

Starting July 1, 2024 （ ）, Toyonaka City will install and operate mist sprayers at four station plazas （ in front of Shibahara Osaka University, Toyonaka, Okamachi, and Sone ） as part of a project promoted by Osaka Prefecture to combat extreme heat by utilizing urban greening.

The mist removes heat from the surroundings as it evaporates, thus lowering the temperature and reducing the heat island effect. This will create a cooler and more comfortable environment for the many people who use the plaza in front of the station, such as while waiting for buses.
